Upholstery adhesives can be available as solvent based, water based (dispersions) or hotmelts. Traditionally the solvent based are used most frequently, mainly in smaller production sites. Flammable adhesives Unilep Spray H and inflammable solvent based adhesives Unilep Spray N are available.
Up-to-date trend is to use VOC free adhesives. Two-way spraying system is very useful for application of water based contact adhesives. Typical product for this use is Akrylep 427 + activator Leabond 2KB. This adhesive offers unique combination of strong adhesive properties, very high temperature resistance and joint flexibility.
Product range of adhesives for upholstery is completed with hotmelts. Polyolefin based (APAO) hotmelts features long open time, good flexibility of the joint and high temperature resistance. They are suitable for mattresses production lines predominantly.
Car upholstery has some specific differences, mainly demands for temperature resistance and resistance against plasticizers (leatherette bonding). Sprayable rubber based adhesives Unilep Spray H22 and H24 can solve this problem easily.
